Steerling wheel not straight...

Hello all,

Quick question - i've got a 2003 corolla S - when the steerling wheel is dead straight, the car moves to the left. Other than that.. the car usually drives perfectly straight (of course the wheel is tilted to the right). Sometimes i feel a little tug when i turn on highways.... It seems as if the natural position of the steerling wheel isn't straight. Now, is this ok... should i worry about any future problems. the car came like this when i bought it a year ago. i brought it in last week and they guy said the allignment is fine and the tire pressure is fine. i'm just not sure that there is a major problem (or a defect) and that they are avoiding it. any help is much appreciated.

If you took the car to the dealer that sold it to you, of course they're gonna deny anything wrong with the car. What you need to do is get other opinions on the car. Take it to another Toyota dealer if you're still under warranty, and get them to check the suspension and the alignment.

Probably just need to get a 4-wheel alignment done.. and maybe get your wheels balanced.

just to strengthen the others suggestions... its definetly the alignment, if you've recently had your tire rotated it could casue it also, still an alignment

when the dealership checked your car out did the hook up a big laser looking like machine to each wheel and properly check the spec of your alignment? Has the car been in a major accident? Hows tire wear?

i appreciate all your help guys

the car has been doing this since i first got it - so i really doubt tire wear has anything to do with it

i just got a rotation for the second time.

i think i'll take it to a new toyota shop this weekend... thanks guys!!

yo dude...if you hit a curb...then you might need inner and/or outer tie rods...if not, then just a wheel alignment easily.. about $50

if the car is dropped then it will throw off the aliment too. or if the suspension was altered after the car got alined after the drop.

Another reason is that your steering gear could be messed up. In an extreem case that my friend had his steering wheel hade to be 90' to the right to go straight!?!
