Solved the wimpy Corolla horn problem.

I have found a place in Montreal where you can get a HELLA horn for $10.
I plan to replace the horn as soon as I can find it on the car. I will need someone to honk the horn as I go around the front of the car to locate the source of the wimpy horn.

right behind the front grill... infront of the radiator. you will see a small little black disc horn...

there is a bracket that attaches it to the frame around the engine bay.

i think any horn sounds better than the stock one. my vibe uses the same wimpy horns as your car and when i honked at someone that cut me off i actually laughed out loud lol it was so embarassing. it sounded more like "umm excuse me, can you move over a bit please?" lol i bought a horn from autozone and it sounded a lot better

but yah the horn's not hard to find...it's behind the grill and it's this small black disc thing...mine was pretty easy to install since it had a relay built in to the horn.

i got a horn out of the new tundra from my dealership LOL its sounds SO funny when you hear it and look at the car very unexpected.

hey wonderboy how much did you get the tundra horn for? was it plug and play too?

put hella supertones in my xrs, super easy to install. pull the old horn out put the new ones in a little bit of wiring and it done. I paid $80 for mine at a subaru dealership so $10 is a steal.

looks like mine but don't you have two horns? I installed two horns, one is a high ptch and the other is a low pitch. The high pitch is 500Mhz and the low is 300 Mhz,(or vise versa) that way when you honk someone they they'll hear two tones. A heck of a lot louder than the stock horn.

I took a couple pics of my hellas. The one on the right is looking from the top. Use the existing threaded hole from the stock horn and there is a threaded hole on the left side for the second bracket. I used the existing wire and split a new wire to go to both horns and grounded both. Super easy, just pull the top of the grill back and then everything is a piece of cake

the horn is quite wimpy, but if I were to replace it I'd buy a horn for cruise ships. Then I can scare the shit out of everyone. Good plan, right?

Train horns and big rig horns have been done, cruise ship now there is something different.

Someone should put a foghorn in, nice and deep tones that lighthouses use. Now that would be cool.
