I'm thinking of a new muffler for the rolla, but I don't want to spend too much cash. Problem is, I've heard that most people hate APC's mufflers for some reason. Is it gonna sound like crap on my car, or will it be nice and low? I don't mind a little raspy, but nothing insane. Can anyone help me out, or suggest something else in that price range? Thanks.
I wish I could remember what muffler I have on my car... heh.. Either way it's a big ass one.. 2 1/2" in and 4" out with optional silencer.. I have the silencer in.. I haven't tried it with out the silencer.. It is slightly raspy.. isn't to loud though.. if you are pulling high RPM's it does get loud. but any free-flowing exhaust would.. What you could do is get another muffler and put it in the exhaust system, like right after the cat.. that will help tone things down.. give a different tone as well..
There are more knowledgeable people here on mufflers and the twin in-line muffler setups..
Well, first of all I never thought that finding a good muffler would be so hard! I looked at the APC again, and it turns out it only comes in a 4.5" tip - way too ricey for me.
So this is what I'm thinking about: Speedy carries Dynomax mufflers. Dynomax has a stainless steel mufflers (with no tip) starting at $45. They also carry Ultra Flow mufflers which make a nice 3" angle cut tip. I figure I could piece the two together, have them install it, and have no worries at all. Do you guys think this would be a good idea? It would cost probably around $100 and from what I've heard and seen of Dynomax they sound pretty good. Opinions?
Cause it'll be mad expensive. This looks like a good deal. If you can find me a shop in KW that can give me the same kinda setup for the same price, I'll happily go there.
