Lowering my rolla

I'd like to get her sittin a bit lower - maybe 1.5 - 2"? I hear Apex springs are pretty good. How much are they? And am I going to have to get struts too? (I don't wanna be paying outta my wazoo)

i prefer using Tokico Struts... im using KYB struts right now and im not liking it at all....too soft.
its abit more than KYB, but do it right the first time since i made the mistake in the begining.

I'm not planning on racing at the track or anything so a soft ride wouldn't be terrible. I basically just want to drop it a bit to get rid of the fender gap... Are struts still a must? Even just for daily driving?

than just cut the spring i mean it works....really... but if your struts seems to be blown and gonna cut the springs...., i suggest monoroe struts just for safety.

Oh I'd never cut my springs - I have friends who have done it and they ended up mashing up their front wheels cause the springs snapped. I guess they get weakened significantly if you cut them or torch 'em. Monroe struts sound like a good idea - I think I might get those and Apex springs...

if i may add...

dont torch the springs. use a steel saw.

Sparco's drop is nice... without being to harsh on the ride.

No putting lower stiffer springs on your old sagging struts will not be easier, because they will bounce around like a bitch and likely won't have the streangth to prevent your car from bottoming out over harsh bumps.

I lowered mine for about $900 in November of 2002.. that was for parts (KYB struts, APEX 1.6inch springs)and labour (install and alignment 2weeks later).

Itchy.. you think KYB are too soft??? maybe when cornering.. I find my KYB's too harsh sometimes.

the KYB's on my car are the only thing giving me a decent ride around town..... only problem... they're too tall for my suspension techniques springs (when i pull the strut assembly out of the car there is NO pressure on the strut mount....)

i'm happy with them for now...

Toyotaspeed, thats dangerous, in a certain situation the spring can dislodge from the mounts and after that..good luck.

i had Apex & KYB GR2's on my Jetta, and honestly, i've ridden on better set-ups, i'm in agreeance with Itch on this one...

what do you suggest to go with Eibach springs? would Tokicos be a good match? ideally i want to get somewhere b/w a 1.7" to 1.9" drop, but having some trouble finding an appropriate set-up...
