i realize this is a corolla forum which potentially could give me biased results. what would be the difference in top speed/acceleration between a [6 speed manual v6 3.0L 240 hp accord engine] v.s. a [5 speed manual 1.8L v4 130 hp with a TRD 1.8L Supercharger that will can supposedly give a maximum hp increase of 30hp]?
with the supercharger (and you would have to change the ecu) on the 03/04 corolla you would probably be quicker in the 1/4 mile by just a bit... the corolla is quite a bit lighter and therefore (with the s/c) would probably have a better hp/weight ratio
on the other hand, top speed would probably be lower (even though both cars would be governed at some speed) and the accords weight would allow the car to feel better at higher speeds

eh.. I4 .. not V4.. (unless the new rollas are v4's?)
And I'd go with the Corolla.. You're right.. biased.. but I'm gonna have to say that you need to check out creature comforts.. I believe the accord would have more of them.. Being an entry level luxury sedan, no?
well it's a mid-size car just like camry, but i'm sure it will be much more omfortable. this thread is like comparing a camry to a corolla, they're made for different things, and aren't really comparable. even though i love toyotas, i'd have to go with the accord because of the V6, giving a torquier feel, and better potential in the long run. plus, it'll have a better resale value than a corolla with a SC, even though it is a TRD part.
I think the Accord takes both acceleration and top speed here.
According to Motor Trend LOL the 03 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe
0-60 6.2 secs
1/4 mile 14.5 @ 98mph
A supercharged Rolla will probably muster a low 15 at best. Top speed on a Rolla is also limited to around 118mph (I think).
SAAB once made a V4. It was never imported to the US tho.
there are some V4 genorators.
Never heard of any other instances.
The V configuration is made to save space, and costs more then an I configuration usually. An inline four is tiny enough as it is, all a V configuration would do to it in most cases is make it fatter and cost more.
