No. Not unless you have enough time money to swap out the engine.
You can get a faster car/engine with the money you would spend on modding this one to any decent speed.
Though the car you have is phenominally reliable, gets great gas milage, and you can modify it pretty cheaply to start, it will never be too fast without some MAJOR modifications ($$$)
However, you can vastly speed it up from its stock form (as some people on this forum have done) with some simple bolt-ons (Headers/Exaust, Carb/Intake, etc)
Simple bolt ons.. HAH! And I beg to differ with your 4A-F bashing my friend.. Never say Never..
Do a whole new exhaust system.. 2" and new 4-2-1 headers.. get quad carbs.. in the 36-40mm range.. do some engine work like new rod bearings and shit like that.. maybe get a tiny bit taken off the head.. like .2mm or whatever u want to run octane wise.. get a port job done on the intake and polish the exhaust side.. custom make your own intake manifold with long runners.. roughen up the runners.. ram air intake setup.. cams..
You'll be smoking a LOT of cars.. I know first hand
4A-F is a sleeper really.. she comes across puny and shitty and to be honest she is.. but once you start touching her sensitive spots she takes off and she takes amazing amounts of abuse and being that there is virtually NO computer control over the engine you can do a LOT more with her than a more modern EFI engine.. orl ike the 4AGE.. etc..
I'm not bashing the 4af, I love this engine, I just dont have faith that this engine can put out that much power at the end for that cheep. I will aknowlage that it will put up with practicly anything you dish out at it, and I will acnowlage its easy to work on cuz its a carbie.
I'm just saying that another car may be what you're looking for if you are making a street racing machine.
Examples, like my old 85 MR2 is so much faster then the 4af 'rolla its absurd, and chances are, you can pick one up for cheeper, and mod it cheeper.
Spend a bit more and you've got a MKIII Supra.
(I'm staying in the toyota family for this argument so everyone doesnt try to kill me, I've already got a feeling that I'm going to get torn to shreads for what I've said already :p)
well...i cont the car for free so...I'm jobless and have about $650 that will be going towards my other car....I just wanted to be lazy and have some1 make a list of mods that could make my car faster
Ah, allrighty then, Punisher had a pretty good list of mods, usually start with a tune up tho, and make sure your carb is dialed in right, then start modding!
Damn we got a few Maryland heads up in here....Good to know...Keep that 4af...

Hmm.. Hey in reply to Xenon's post, if I was you I would upgrade the suspension with any work to the engine that is going to add power.. A stiffer suspension will give you a better speed.. I remember on this old RC car I had.. more like a truck really.. it was just a rwd toy and had the motor in the back.. welp, I noticed that when you would stomp the power the back would drop down from the force.. so what I did was used rubber bands to always hold the back suspension down so there was no play.. and the acceleration of the little toy was faster.. I'd assume the same would be true in our cars.. stiffer would be better.
But anyway.. piss that carb on the 4af away.. it's useless shit.. if you want an economy car it's awesome.. but if u want a power drop it like a dead fish in the toilet bowl.
Allentown...I've got a friend who has family family there. Anyway i'm lookin into webbers for my 4af..is it worth it? Anyone know where to get the kit for a 4af? Also would I need to upgrade any internals?
