I have a 96 corolla. All of a sudden, the clock light is gone and the radio cannot remember the stations. If I tune my radio to a station and then turn off and then turn on the car, the station is lost. My frend told me that the clock problem may be a fuse problem but why did the two happen at the same time. Any idea?
BUT, if it was the fuse that was gone.. you wouldn't have radio OR the clock working at all.. most likely your battery is not holding charge properly. It happened to me a few years ago with my dad's car, the battery kept resetting everything because it was pretty much dead.
You might've shorted out something while installing the deck in the car, that's about the clock.
The deck problem is a common mistake, you might have exchanged the constant/memory (yellow) and ignition (red) wires. Therefore everytime you turn off the car the deck completely turns on because the memory is not connected to a constant supply to hold the stations.
Check your wires..

Sounds to me like he's discussing the factory stereo, or if not, it sounds like he had an aftermarket one installed. No offence to him, it just doesn't sound like he has the knowledge to install it himself.
If you're referring to a factory Toyota Radio that you haven't played with, then it's definitely a fuse... But check the wires if you just installed an aftermarket deck..
Good luck and tells us what happens..

comet(or anybody)-would you mind letting me know just what the thing looks like? I have opened the panel on the driver's side, but I could not tell which one was the radio/clock fuse. Please help-I miss my radio
OK but WTH does the thing look like? I don't see anything that looks like the fuses in the engine or the storage compartment. Does it say anything in particular?
