Question Rims question

About how large should I go with my rim/tire size? I wanna go as big as I can without wheel rub. What size do you guys have on your ae92 coupe's? Thanks all. -Josh

My car is lowered with 1.6" APEX springs and I have 205/40/16 on my SR5 and I needed spacers in the rear because it rubbed on the rear struts! Take in consideration that the wheels I have at +42 offset.

I wouldn't go bigger then 18" also depending if you have a drop or not but I think you 17" would be the best, especially the car is small and you don't wanna have your car looking like big foot.

I personally think 17" is way too big.. I know my case is kind of different because I have a dark car with very light coloured wheels but I tried 17"s and they looked too big for the car! So big I couldn't see the car anymore..

LoL, 16" then might be good for your car. Try this go to www.tirerack.com and pick out your car and see what would feet best, I am not neccesserally suggesting to get rims from there, but atleast you would ge an idea of what would be the good size for you car. That's what I did. Then I decided I was happy with my stock rims.

I saw some decent rims, but the only ones I really liked were 17" x 7". Would these rims fit my car? What would be the ideal offset? Thanks for any help. -Josh

Just a reminder, different sized wheels w/o compensating tire size messess up your gearing, and your spedometer tends to be wrong.

And putting bigger wheels is the same as dropping your final drive ratio. IE: you loose off the line power, but your RPMs are lower at the same speeds so you get better miles to the gallon and less engine wear
