need advice regarding Altezza IS200 motor swap..

I need some input regarding the possible swap of a Altezza IS200 motor and 6speed that my buddy has in Japan into my AE86....It's modded by a company called Beams in JAPAN and has 12,oookm.....I've read a few howto's on the web but I just thought I'd ask some swap experts amongst you your thoughts.....Or should I go a different route....??

u mean RS200 right?
and BEAMS isn't a company, it's just breakthrough engine advanced mechanism systems or something like that

Holy fuck! BEAMS! I'd love to see that motor in a lightweight car like yours. Dual VVTi, 210 HP N/A, crazy redline, its a beautiful thing.

btw, i think you'll have to hack up the tranny tunnel pretty good to fit that big Getrag tranny.

thanks for the input guys...The engine in question looks to be a good platform in case I want more later. I've read some Australian threads regarding an auto 3SGE altezza motor being installed into a Levin with little modification. I would like to go a little more extreme than the traditional. My WRX has a JDM drivetrain with twinscroll turbo setup tweaked to just under 400hp, so I want to feel some power out of this lightweight car. I have a 20v in my garage but I think I want more. It looks like I must do some more research.

as for chassis strengthaning, I think I'll be working on that soon.

thanks again for the encouragement

Adrian

Check out Bill Sherwood's site. He's got a lot of cool stuff on there.
www.billzilla.org

He's already done this swap. Except I think he used an auto gearbox.
