Question Steering on Corolla AE111 too light

Hi all,

I'm sorry if this is repeated post. I'm newbie. I got some question about the AE111 Steering. Hope to get some help from the experienced Toyotarian here.

The steering is too light even after changing to a better Tyre and Suspension. It's having 15" rims with Potenza RE711 Tyre. The suspension is hi-low kit adjustable. But the steering is still very light.

So this affect the driving as the feedback from the wheels or steering is not so sensitive. Can't sense...just feel something is missing.

Btw, the AE111 is converted to 4AGE20 Blacktop 6 speeder.

As to compare with AE101, stock car with 15" Rims and Dunlop SP9000 tyres. The feedback or sensitivity is better compare to stock tyres and rims.

Can anyone help??? Thanx in advance. Cheers

You could get a larger pulley for the power steering pump.. this would give you lower rotations of the pumps impeller or whatever the hell it uses to generate the pressure.. in other words giving you less "power steering" assistance.

Or you could just rip all the power steering out. Or if you're too lazy just cut the belt.

Well, bad thing about just removing the belt is the fact that the power steering rack isn't geared like the manual rack.. which the manual rack has a gearing that allows for easier turning of the wheel.. Yes, you could just remove the belt.. simple as that.

Or you could just get a larger pulley.. that would still give you your power steering yet it wouldn't assist you as much..
Do they make the car with power steering option OR manual option?

Yo Thanks everybody. Been discussing with my friends but never thought of the larger pulley. Thanx PuNiSh3R. Will try that. But is it easy to get the pulley?

And what is Power steering option OR Manual option...haha. can't catch the meaning.

Cheers
