Electronic Locks, on an 89

89 Corolla dx.... Has mechanical locks, i want to put in electrics with an alarm. Is there a kit i should go for, or shoul i try to find like a 92 or something that came with them at the junkyard, and grab those? Any suggestions, websites, kits... ?Thanks

Pull the door panel.. look at what you have to work with.. and then decide.. i'm sure there are kits.. or i'm sure you could just rip what u need from a properly equiped ae92.. and with some custom DIY work.. you'll be all set.

i've got a 91 that had manual locks. i bought a kit from a local car stereo shop for like $30 for the 2 front doors. i hooked them up to my alarm. here's the diy i put together, if you have any questions feel free to ask

the kits are good, but i think that the oem power doorlocks are much better, because if you put the kits and not mount them properly, the actuators will definetely have a very and i mean a very short lifespan, while the oems are bolt ons, you wont have any probs, just make sure that what you rip out are working properly...
