Lowering Springs

2000 Corolla with 205/55/16 Toyo performance tires in the summer and 195/60/14 Toyo winter tires for winter.

Question is this: I am looking at putting performance shocks in and new springs. However, I am not sure I want to lower the car by 1.3 inches. My concern is that in the winter I may have problems with snow build up in the wheel well and when I am running through deep snow (my street doesn't get ploughed that often) I am more likely to be scrapping bottom.

Am I worring for nothing and the benefits of having my car lower out way my concerns of the 4 snow falls a year I have to drive in?

Thank you in advance.

You shouldn't have a problem unless you are driving for days without cleaning the crap out from your wheel wells. In winter you will be on your 14s so you should have 4-5 inches of clearance to play with in there...

another thing to consider is that when you lower your car, your springs will be stiffer and in the winter its going to be harder to control, your rear end will break loose easier. (not always a bad thing)

Aside from that.. i wouldnt worry to much about snow.

you don't worry about it When i dropped my talon 2 in. I drove in winter fine. just common sense on what you gotta do. But you'll be fine.

zip zip what are you talking about. they will be fine. After market springs (unless racing springs) have barely enough added rate to affect wet/crappy wheather performance. on my talon i didn't notice a difference maby a little more bumpy and lower ride but the otherwise it was like stock in the weather. the tires are what matters. Well unless you got 7k in front and 9k in back and are running constant spring rates.
