Car whining through gears

Hey guys

I just bought an 86 GTS coupe, and the car makes a whining noise through all the gears except 4th.

it sounds like "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....(shift)..eeeeeeeeeeeeee..( shift)..eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...(shift)...no noise....(shift)..eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee........"

The sounds gets louder the higher you rev. It doesn't make the noise when you take your foot off the gas or brake to a stop. But as soon as you have just the gas on, no brake or clutch, it's just that annoying noise.

Anyone have any ideas?

I think i've discovered the source of the problem, does anyone know how much a centre bearing for the driveshaft would cost me?

ShIt!! that might be my problem too.. my car whines now.. only when I rev it past 5,000 though.. hmmm.. grrrr!!
