I bought a silver 87 AE86 coupe yesterday! Found the ad in buysellzone.com. The body is clean except for some major rust on the wheel wells and a bit on the sunroof. Interior is very very clean though, no rips. I drove the car for a short trip, and I was sold, I had to get it. Owner was asking $800 but I got it for $700. Its still sitting in his driveway cause I can't get my plates transfered till the OPSEU strike ends. When I do get it home I'll post some picks.

You should check the underside. By the sounds of it mine has some more rust then yours. My wheel wells had bad rust. Then when I whent to get it saftied My frame was rusted out too. So you should look at your frame. Mine drove smooth and shiftend nicly on the test drive and there is no problems with it mechanicaly and it had a very clean interior too. I hope what happened to me does not happen to you.

I bought it as is, all I got was the ownership, and the key. I knew it was a bit of a gamble not taking it to a shop first, but I had to have it. It hasn't passed the sniff test, or safety yet. Its just sitting there in the sellers driveway. I didn't check underneath the car so voodoo is scarring me a bit.

If it aint rusted through its fixable.. even if it was rusted through, depending on the amount, its still fixable. So dont worry

Yup it is a Dunlop. Thats what it said on the tire any way. It was cold out so I didn't really look at what the wheel said on it. But I have seen my spare on a GT-S before but it had 4 of them. Here is a pic of that car.

Oh and I wanted to ask you something becaus I recognised the pic of your car on Club 4AG.
If you live in Toronto the why was it when I saw this SR5 pic in Auto Trader way back when, why did the phone number listed have a 905 area code? Did you move?
