You may want to check \replace the oxygen sensors...I beleive there's 2 on that car... I can verify this though...

Another crazy thing that I have looked over before right around emissions time, is the gas cap.....My Chk eng light kept flickering, then of course I failed emissions... The gas cap was the culprit...

If the above 2 items don't help, a local shop, Like Goodyear can pull some codes for right around $60.00, or you can just by a code scanner...

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to retrieve codes from the computer without a scan tool (I can on my '93). All you need is a paperclip. I'll post the procedure later today, I must get going!

To check the codes, the engine should be warmed up, the transmission in neutral (not park), and all acessory switches (fan, etc) off. Then, turn the key to on (engine not running). Use a paperclip or small jumper wire to bridge terminals TE1 and E1 of the diagnostic test connector in the engine compartment (located next to the driver's side strut tower under the hood). Then get back in the car and watch the check engine light. It will flash the code(s) stored by the digit: it will flash the first digit of the code (by the number of flashes), then pause, then the second digit. Then there will be a longer pause, and if there are no other trouble codes, it will repeat the first code. If there are more, it will return to the first code once it is finished displaying all codes, then the process will repeat. If you do this and post the code obtained, I'll tell you what the code is (the list is too large to try to type out).
