New wheels need new tires

Hey ppl,

I've just ordered AR polished sniper rims for my Corolla. Now I need to finalize the tires to go with them.

I was looking at the Yoko - es100 195's, and the Toyo Prox TPT 195's. The problem is I can't seem to find many comments on the Toyo's. Anyone have exp with these? Good/bad...etc? Maybe another brand recommendation?

Also, the store suggested I go to 205's, but I'm not too sure about that. Anyone comment on that?

FYI - I've been to tirerack and done my homework, just looking for opinions.

thanks.

Which size did you get? Assuming you got the 15x7 (+40 offset), 205/50R15s will fit, but might rub on the outer part of the rear fender wells; I forget which offset at which cutting back the inner lip becomes necessary to fit 205s, but I think you will be fine

You might want to check out the tire reviews in the Tech Section Sticky...

Soo much for that...

Dealer called the day before and said the rims were damaged, new one s would be another 3 weeks. As my treads were already at or below 2/32 I couldn't wait.

I did call around and found the rims but it the extra cost pushed my budget too far. Instead I opted for tires only.

Installed Toyo Proxes TPT. 185/65R14. I've only had them on for a day, but the amount of noise (compared to the Aquatred 3's) is incredibly less. These are quiet tires!

I will post in a few more days once I've had the run around on these tires and let you all know how they are. I paid $155 each tire.
