I would start with an intake and full exhaust. And btw, there's no such thing as "cheap horsepower"!

I'm not aware of a bolt-on turbo kit for the AE86, what engine does the sr-5 have?

Iformation for custom-turbocharging a 4a-ge can be found here:

http://www.toyotanation.com/showthre...threadid=21169

It should basically apply to any other Toyota fuel injected 1.6...

how much is the gts conversion cost? im looking to pull out alot of hp. i want to be beat my brothers srt-4 but he is pushing 17-20 psi. and i want to stay with carb. not go to fuel inject. i want something that will hold about 10-15 psi boost and like 50-75 shot of N.O.S. push out about 300 hp if i can. ...um...yeah...dude, you're asking for a lot from the 4age motor, if you want to do that swap. talk to a shop about it...that's stressing that motor a bit. it's gonna be a pricey venture because you're going to want to beef the hell out of the internals before pushing more than like 6 PSI boost.

trust me. what you want is NOT cheap...and if you go cheap on it, you're more than likely gonna kill your car. it's not worth it to cheap out on stuff like that.

This is silly.

If you want to drag race an SRT-4, building your Corolla to do it is the wrong way to go. By the time you finnished the project, you'd have thousands into it. You'd be better off buying a warmed-over DSM or 5.0 stang for a few grand. Or even a MkIII Supra Turbo...

dont waste money on it.
it wasnt meant to put out that kind of power....if u want power then get a used eclipse or something as chris corolla s said!

even if u ran a 60shot of nitrous in your car, it's still hopeless...u'll be getting 17sec 1/4 mile times with n2o!!!!

Yeah I agree just get a cheap stang. Those things are mad fast with just a couple bolt ons.. and that sounds like what you're looking for.

The SRT-4 is getting into the high 13s bone stock!
With just a little extra boost they har getting low 13s.
A bone stock SR5 AE86 probably pulls about a mid 17 bone stock.

used 5.0 - i wanna say it's one of the cheapest cars to beef up. then again, Ford did a wonderful thing in making most of their parts usable on any year in the line..

probably the best thing Ford did.
