86 lowering question

a while back I posted about a clunk that started after the lowering, I recently found the clunk. the bracket for my rear sway bar was broken. I also recently read that when lowering an 86 you have to shorten the lateral control rod. its not the sway bar but it still could have caused the break. now tommorow I get a brand new bracket from toyota, if put this one on will it break again? anyone else ever had this problem? could I put in spacers to prevent this?

also the bracket was extremely rusty and might have been damaged from removal inorder to drop the axle for the lowering.

its possible the stress the lateral rod puts on shifting the rear end could break (what I think your referring to is the end links on the roll bar?) But I haven't heard that to be a problem and maybe yours was just weak to begin with? Look at the otherside endlink, does it have serious stress on it?

If your going to be down there, maybe you could remove the lateral rod until you get an adjustable one? (actually dont, cos then when you take a turn hard enough, it wil only be easier to break the swaybar endlinks)

How low did u drop your car?
