Question 88 FX 4A-C question.

there are three vacuum hoses going to the distributer , two on top one on bottom,,,i tried following the diagram in haynes manual on correct routing, but here lies the question,,, on one of the top hoses (drivers side hope this is correct too) there is a check valve, which way should air flow thru, ,,from metal lines or from dist vaccum ,,,,i can tell no difference in performance either way, but it has to do some function, so want it on correct. I replaced all the lines and like a dummy i did not mark them,,,

I had the same problem and pretty much guessed at it. There is a diagram underneath the hood of my car but the years have faded it away so I was struggling to make out where the hoses went.
