Charge Lamp Relay?

I have a 82 corolla that I need to fix up in order to pass safety inspection. Ill probably be asking all sorts of stupid questions over the next few weeks but here is my first.

I've been told that i need a new charge lamp relay. I was having all sorts of problems with my alternator and when it was all finished, the charge/brake light did not go out. it is still on, actually, and the mechanic says that the problem is most likely in the relay. I can not find this thing to save my life. Can anyone please direct me towards it, and maybe chime in as to if this sounds reasonable. thanks
