wtf is this!?!

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what the fuck this is.. and why the hell I pulled it from one of the oil holes on my head.. I pulled the valve cover was adjusting cams.. was picking some silicon sealant out the side of the hole by the end exhaust cam bearing.. and next thing I know I noticed this thing sticking out of the oil hole!!! That and then I checked the other holes and the one I picked out a TON of black sludge..
I can't imagine what this shread of metal is.. it looks like some type of washer or something.. This may explain the shredding noise I was hearing now and then at high RPMs.. huh?

I thought it might have been from the piston.. it would explain the shredding sound I've been hearing at high RPMs every now and then.. huh?

Definitely. I give your engine a 70/30 chance at actually being rebiuldable without major scoring to the cylender... or heat problems to the head from the oil blockage. I dont know whitch side to put the 70 on or the 30 on though. You'd have to pull it apart and check.

FUck if anyone thinks I'm rebuilding it!!! The 2 front oil holes, the left one had that metal shard on.. the right one had a ton of gunk up in it..all of which I pulled out, yet there was a ton of oil all over the cams and everything.. so luckily I don't think there was an oil starvation problem.. but I suppose that shredding sound was the compression ring ripping apart in the cylinder and getting torn down through the cylinder into the oil pan.. Block = shottage.. hopefully the crank is alright.
