Well I have a 2001 Corolla and I'm thinking of lowering it about 2 inches all around. I'm I going to need a camber kit after I lowered it that much? The reason I am asking is because I would like to buy the camber kit before I install the springs so I can install them both at the same time, If I need it.
errrrrrr isnt the '01 rolla still mac strut? mac strut wont yeild any camber changes. my car was lowered 1.8 around and camber was still at 0

if the camber changes when its lowered (or raised), why did boroEF's camber did'nt change when it was lowered. could it be that he just doesnt notice that change? or maybe O 16581 72452 5's mac struts are a different style?
...damn im so confused now, i dont know what to do. and who to believe.
MacPhereson struts are all the same, they're a strut with a coil in the center of them. To understand, you need to look at your suspenion travel as you raise and lower the car, i'm sure his camber did change, but possibly isn't noticeable, over time however, he will have uneven tire wear.
I personally wouldn't worry about a camber kit, a 2 inch drop isn't really enough to worry about.
Here's my .02 cents on that; according to any alignment shop mechanic that I have ever discussed various lowering questions w/, you don't need a camber kit unless you are going over a 2" drop. On the other hand, I had put coil-overs on my other car, drove it fully slammed (4" drop), I had bought a camber kit and went to have it installed and get an alignment at the same time. I get to the shop and the do0d gave me back my camber kit and told me that in the 30 years of his workmanship he has NEVER had to install a camber kit. Normally if a car needs a camber kit they just reem the holes a bit in the strut mounting holes at the base to acomodate for the camber. And in conclusion, he didn't even have to reem out my struts for camber. So w/ a full drop my car was perfectly fine, which surprised me. Anyway, hope this helps.
