I've heard that 2+ in drop are to much, but i dont really know.
As for getting new struts with the new spring, !beats me. im new here.

but...
Tein S.Tech and H.Tech doesnt drop a 01-02 corolla that much
According to Tein's website http://www.tein.com/toyota.html
S.Tech drops 1.9f - 1.4r
H.Tech drops 1.3f - 0.8r
Which just looks like a perfect drop to me.

-
I myself is going to drop my 01 corolla exactly 2in with dropzone springs
Ive heard many ugly stories about dropzone springs
but I just have to know for myself by trying them

Anything after 2" (or more) will cause you alignment problems as far as I know.
