Actually about the raised hood thing. I know why it is done but is it really nessisary? Me and a few friends wonderer about this so we poped the hood of one of my friends cars. After a quick look we discovers a rubber gasket that ran along the inside of the engine bay that the hood would come in contact with when it is closed. Removing this gasket would result in the same thing as jacking the back of the hood up. We belive this gasket is suposed to stop water from going on to the engine while it is parked.
