Right.. it runs really great right now.. and then tomorrow.. Kablam! How many miles do you get on a full tank of gas?

I personally think you'd be better off doing a swap.. going with a larger engine.. There's no replacement to displacement.
Heh.. It's pretty easy to make an intake like that..

About the only thing to install on a 4afe engine is a chain and the hook on the end of an engine hoist! Don't waste your money on any 4afe. About the only thing you can buy for your engine is a Pacesetter header and that won't do much. If you really like your car then start researching what it would take to swap in a different motor, and wait till your motor gives you trouble. I've got an Ae92 auto sedan sitting in the backyard with a sick 4afe motor waiting for me to make up my mind on a suitable transplant. Don't Waste Your Money!!

Yea.. you will put a lot of money in to it and really not come out with anything better.. a 168miles when u hit a 1/3 tank is horrible.. somethin is really fucked up inside the engine. I wouldn't waste my cash on any engine that doesn't have a perfect bill of health.. specially if it is over say a 100K. My 7AFE I just got is at 79K and it checks out like a champ. Should make me very happy and prove to be quite the fighter with the mods I have up for it.

I'd probably go for a swapped engine if i had a second car to rely on. But with my busy schedule, i just cant go a day without one.
BTW..how long do i maybe have before my engine dies on me?..Keeping in mine that i do regularly scheduled maintenance like oil/filter change, trans/radiator flush, etc....
I also was thinking about getting rims for my corolla, but do you think it'd be better to just pocket my money and save for a more reliable car for whenever my corolla gives up?

Ah.. you got quite some time left I'd bet.. 4AF's are very durable.. so even with no oil they run fine lol.. Um does it consume oil or coolant? I think your best bet if you can't do a swap or any major work because you need your vehicle would just be to save your money and plan on selling the car and picking up another vehicle.

I've always gotten about 30 miles per tank less whenever I put anything but 87 octane in mine. I get about 300 miles per tank and my car runs pretty rough. Oh yeah mines a POS automatic.
