I am going to stay with EFI.. Kinda sick of carbs.. don't get me wrong tho.. they do kick ass.. but they kick a lot of money too.

Eventually I am going over to a programmable EFI system with ITB's.. That will give me the same carb effect I love along with the efficiency of EFI.

My question is, i have a complete 7AFE engine.. injectors, ECU, harness.. what do I need now to switch my '89 SR5 coupe body over to EFI? From what I understand all I really need is a fuel pump and some line.. Anything else?

Does anyone here know what type of air sensor a '96 corolla DX would use on it's 7afe 1.8l engine? MAP, AFM, etc?

they're map based..... electronic wires run to the map (i've never followed the wires) sensor and then a vacuum line runs to that... on a stock 90 sr5 the map sensor was bolted to the firewall (i had to move mine for the gts strut brace).... but then there's an intake temp sensor....

Flash, yes and no.. They are cool.. but the fact that my 4AF is in poor condition is what I'm tired of... But good news, I am keeping the Keihins on my 7AFE.. just re-incarnating them.. as throttle bodies! Going to use the carbs strictly to meter the air flow

It won't be ITB's tho.. they will just feed straight into the plenum so each cylinder takes what it needs.. basically like having one big ass throttle plate instead of that little one that is stock on the plenum... Then instead of pump fuel into the carbs.. gonna be pumping water

For a water injection system.. will be using an S-AFC to control the EFI injectors

i'm not familiar with carbs, but wouldn't water being not as volatile as fuel be an issue/reason?

eh.. actually the water raises the active octane of the fuel.. So you can run leaner than normally.. run more advanced timing.. higher comp.. etc.. It would basically be 10-15% water to fuel ratio.. not much at all.
