87 Corolla GT-S TwinCam 16

I just had this car given to me and it needs a bit of body work, a new clutch and some brakes. Nothing big there thank god I don't think I could afford anything major. I do all the work myself so it saves me a fortune. I was wondering if anyone knows of any inexpensive performance parts for this car? and perhaps some body mods. I haven't had the greatest luck finding any yet unfortunately. Any suggestions on what I could do to mod this car would greatly be appreciated. I'm always up for the challenge and I really haven't many unique ideas. Feel free to post anything you may have done or have thought of that is different than the standard mods. Thanks : )

Hmmmm.. Really? I didn't know many people were after this car. LoL.. I like it.. Needs a lot of interior work and such but I am always up for the challenge. How much do these usually go for? with roughly 180k on it? Any ideas?

from now on, instead of searching for "corolla gt-s", type in "AE86". Its all downhill from there

www.club4ag.com has lots of info on the car, and especially the twincam engine known as the 4age

if you need any interior pieces lemme know, i got a full parts car

inexpenisve mods would be intake exhaust and spark plugs, if you want you can make your own drop vent in the hood. i did that to my car. lots of fun doing that.

Hmmm.. Just wondering if anyone knows offhand.. Might she be Fuel injected or carbed? :P

And is anyone familiar with those +20hp speed chips on Ebay? They attach to the ECU and supposedly add up to 20hp.. Anyone tried them yet?

Edit: Does anyone happen to have a clutch handy too?

those "speed chips" are nothing more than 25 cent resistors that do nothing. dont waste your money on them.

Cheap performance enhancers? I believe AssDrag mentioned them (exhaust may get pricey though).

Instead of the drop vent hood, you could raise the rear of the hood slightly using spacers. This creates a vacuum effect and draws more heat from the engine out.

A few of us with this car wanted to have our own small meet of ae86's but some members made a fuss about it so it was decided to meet at an actual TN meet. Although I wouldn't rule out an all ae86 meet just yet

That would be a good idea.. Wouldn't be anything too big but would be nice.. At the moment mine is all stock and it will take some time before I get anything major done. But when she's ready I'm game for an all ae86 meet
