Hi guys! I found a gem of a gem! Weird story though but this was a message from god. he he he... My friend had to pick up a support for the fuel pump on our Rolla rally car from a scrap yard. As he gets out of the yard office, this guy comes in. My friend gets out and almost falls on his ass!! There parked in front of the office is one of the cleanest AE86 on this side of the border! He inspects the car and he can't believe it. the car is mint, no rust, nothing. He checks every little nook where they rust and nothing, the car is impeccable. He checks the license plate, thinking the guy is from California maybe, but no, Quebec license plates!
Guy comes out and asks "You know a bit about Toyotas?" He's like "Shit yeah! Where the hell did you get this???!?" He says that he deals like this, buys a car, sell them, etc... He had an RX7 convetible for sale on the net and this guy from T.O. calls up, he's interested. The guy included the ae86 in the transaction with a sum of money for the RX-7. They were the original owners of the car and it's been treated for rust on the day they bought it. Never has seen a winter. Owners were Toyota freaks too. Owned a 94 Twin turbo Supra and a GS400. He lets my friend inspect the car, trunk, everything under any carpeting is impeccable. the interior is amazingly clean and like new!!
Pops the hood and there sits the cleanest engine bay he's seen here in Canada and even the US! The engine in there is a jspec 4ag with barely 30 000 km's on it. Looks like it came out of the company. My friend's drooling and can't believe his eyes.
Guy says, you wan't it? My friend is like how much? He's expecting at least 4000$ for this shape. Guy says 2000$, firm as you see it. He's like oh my god!!
Takes 30 minutes and he calls me up. Pat, pat, you won't believe what I saw!!! He tells me the story and were both almost crying like girls. We have to buy it. We can't let this go! Some stupid kid who doesn't know sh** about it is going to take it! (he was putting it up for sale next week). We do not know what to do. He tells me to call him back and in the meantime I call my credit card company to boost my limit. I was @ 3500$. Girl offers me 6000$ I'm like YES! I call my friend back and tell him, he can't believe it. I tell him that I'm getting the car, no questions about it. He's thrilled!
Well here it is! Bought it this morning and it is exactly like my friend Pascal described it. Unbelievable. The only thing the car has is a little dent in the passenger fender. A touch of surface rust.
We spent the whole day cleaning it and looking at it. What a find.
