AE86 oil pump replacement

I'm interested in buying an 85 Corolla GT-S hatch. The owner says the oil pump is bad and needs to be replaced. I know some oil pumps are easy to be replaced and some require the engine to be pulled. Can anyone with experience dealing with these explain the process in a little detail for me? Thanks.

it'll probably be my daily driver, I drive a piece of junk now and I've wanted another fun little 5-speed for a while since my Sundance broke. I might try out some drift too, since I hear this is pretty much -the- car for it.
