Questions about replacement stereo

I have decided to replace the tape player with a pioneer DEH-p4650mp CD/MP3/WMA player. I finally found one that I like and that matches my car interior.

I am not a big music person but I like to be able to listen to my Tony Bennet´s CDs once in a while. I really dont want to get too serious with my system and spend a lot of money. All I want is a nice stereo that gives me a full, rich and clear sound.

Anyways, How good are the factory speakers? Could they stand the 50 Watts x 4 output of this CD turner? If i keep the factory speakers, would my new stereo sound just as lame as the tape deck?

I think that at the shop where I am getting my stereo, they include a pair of Pioneer speakers. I might take that offer and replace the pair in the front doors and maybe later get the rear pair.

Any audiophile out there that can help me out here?

factory speakers are...ehhhhhh at best.

they'll last you a little while...i know mine have been ok since last May when i swapped in my Pioneer HU...but they're starting to lose their sound quality.

i fully expect to replace mine within the year.

hope that helps

Honestly in my opinion, that deck seems like its a little overkill for what you need... I have the DEH 1500 and it's all I really need. I'd recommend downgrading the head unit and maybe getting some new speakers (at least in the rear). I've got JVC 2 ways btw. I believe there's an mp3 version of the DEH 1500 out there.

wHY THE DEH 4650?

Because I want to be able to play both mp3s and wma files. i have lot of wma . The other feature that I like is the remote control and the option to add accesories like cd changers later on.
