Whats needed to convert from 4AF to 4AGZE/4AGE in an AE92?

Hey guys....

Ive got a 4AF carb engine in my AE92 and I want to change my engine to efi and a better engine such as the 4AGE or 4AGZE.
My problem is that Im not sure on everything I need to do the conversion... I know I obviously need electric fuel pump and ecu/computer-box and the engine comes with the rest of the major hardware....
But Im not sure on what else I need, such as what extra relays I need, small things in electrical system, etc...

Please if anybody can help me... Im trying to find the easiest and cheapest way possible. Any help is appreciated.

easiest.. cheapiest.. all things that don't apply to a 4age swap.. specially a 4agze swap.. You will have to beef the front end suspension up if you do a 4agze swap. I'd consider a 7AFE swap or something of the likes if I was you.

Apparently you don't need to change the suspension if you're putting a 4AGE or 4AGZE instead of a 4AFE in an SR5 coupe or sedan.

But you do need to change the wire harness and ECU as well as the drive shafts. It will not be an easy job if you do it yourself. It usually requires a bit of modification.

it could be done though. I'm still deciding on whether I should just rebuild my engine and turbo it or just find a clean 4AGZE!! It's a dilemma...

STOP saying you need to beef up the suspension..... everyone listen..... if you're concerned about any weight gain issues from a 4a-ge then move the battery to the trunk

listen to those with experience in the matter......

Ok look... Im from South Africa and our Corolla's all have the same suspension setup... whether the car came with the 4AGE or with the 4AF/4AFE. Even the transmissions are exactly the same only the 4AGE has a higher final drive ratio. Ive also got a standalone engine management system to cover my fueling needs and ignition needs... my only problem now is making sure I have everything I need to convert to fuel injection... such as what relays I need or can I somehow bypass the relays and connect straight from my ecu to the fuel pump, etc?

AE92 same questions, some different

I also would like to do this mod,, I have a 88 4af FWD sr5 corolla. The tranny feels like a close ratio trans, but is the 4age to much for the fwd tranny / 5 sp? Every video on youtube with 4age doing donuts and RWD. I dont need to drift and i like the front wheel drive for destroying hairpins.. anyway,, any info would be apreciated.. thanks
