2001 Corolla : Howto Install New Shocks / Struts???

Ok so I just got some new Tokico Shocks / Struts for my car and I removed my stock ones, but i'm trying to remove the spring from the stock ones and i can't get the top bolt off, the shaft seems to turn with it and i can't seem to stop it from turning. Is there a special tool I need for this or what? I have the spring compressed and nothing else turns with it, just the shaft and bolt. =( If someone can gimme more input, I would really appreciate it, thanks!

if you are trashing the old ones get some locking pliers on the shaft itsself. if you arent...get an impact wrench.
