AE91 engine on AE85?

does the AE91's (1989 SR5 Corolla 2-dr Coupe) engine fit, or is it even possible to fit, in an AE85 (1987 SR5 Corolla 2-Dr Coupe)? If so, what needs to be converted? I can understand the possibilities of it not being transfered over, but I still want to ask.

If you want a 4AF.. I have my old one sitting in my garage right now.. I just did a 7AFE swap in my 89 corolla coupe sr5.. All that needs to be done to the engine to be in kickin condition is a hone job and new piston rings... You can get a complete rebuild kit, i mean EVERYTHING for 400 bucks.. let me know if you are interested.. I have the ECC (emissions control computer) I have the engine harness but it's pretty useless as I will be chopping some of the plugs off I think to finish my swap... but not sure as of yet.

well...I have a 4A-F, but my dad's AE85 has a 3A-C, not a 4A-C, would that be a problem? I don't know much about anything about cars, so what kind of work will need to be done to the ECU, does that mean I need a new ECU; use the ECU for the AE91, the ECU for the AE85, or just a whole new ECU? is there a wiring harness available for the type of engine swap I just asked about? Will there be any problem due to the AE91 being FWD and the AE85 being RWD?

Wait, you're in Los Angeles. How on earth did you end up with a 3A-C AE85? AFAIK, all North American 84-85 fastback/notchback Corollas were 4A-C AE86s....

it's stamped AE86, but since it comes with the crappy parts, my friend forced me into calling it an AE85, so I apologize for all misunderstandings. My dad had to change the engine like a decade ago, and the current engine is the 3A-C. it is also the coupe, not the liftback.
