1991 Brake swap - plase help!!!

Hi!
Here is the thing, i have 89 GTS, I was looking into the 1991 big brake swap, so I digged two calipers off the 1983 Camry and two brackets too, 1991 GTS calipers were impossible to find, but the camry ones looked exactly the same and shared the same code 54-22 22V. Than I bought two brembos 255mx22mm disks.
Tried to install it, here what happens, the bracket is too short and is not clearing the new big rotor. What is wrong - is it because even though the bracket has 22V stated on it, it's not the same as 22V from the 1991 Corolla GTs? or it's because I need the 1991 GTS spindle?
Please help, I'm desperate.

i doubt you can use the camry Brackets....i was discussing this with some other ppl.... the exact same brackets are the S/C MR2 (AW-11).....you can try looking for those.... and you shouldn't hafto switch the spindle.

ok, the camry brackets, put against the orinals they look the same, except the opening for the disk is wider, camry had thicker disks too - 21mm that's explains it, but all the other dimensions seem to be the same, so I was asking myself, how the hell they gonna clear those huge rotors.
And by they way, brackets say 22V, but the originals say 18V-B !! so do I need the brackets that say 22V-B ?? maybe this is answer?
The Camry calipers should be fine though, right? 54-22 ?

will the non S/C MR2 brackets do? and which year 87-89 ?

for your info guys, I found two Celica GTS brackets from 1987-1989, and they worked with camry calipers and AE92 big rotors.
