Dome Light

Ok this is a really stupid question, but I am like obsessive compulsive so i hope you guys can help me out. On my 92 Corolla the dome light doesn't come on anymore when I open my doors and I was wondering what a way to fix it was. I was going to take the switches out and get new ones but when I took them out, I couldn't figure out how to get the wire out. I guess i am stupid. Does anybody have a way to get the wire out besides cutting it? And where I could buy new switches? I would go to the junkyard but I want to know that the switches work.

theres actually 2 switches that operates the dome light when door is opened, and which one are you talking about???

1. is the switch that is located at the dome light.
2. the switch on the chassis where the door closes on.

b4 you do anything, i hope the dome switch is on "DOOR" and check if the light bulbs are not burnt out by switching it at "ON"

your door switch you can take it off by one screw....but first you gotta remove the rubber cover. than you should be abke to diconnect the wire and clean off the metal conductor....high possibility of being coroded.

I am talking about the one on the door and yes the dome light is on "DOOR." I know the light works because on the drivers door if you push it down and to the left a little it will turn on.

So the dome light does operate.. Ok, simple.. you need new door pin switches.. get em new at a toyota dealer. They get touchy and go bad after a while, on my 89 mine are weird.. they'll stick.. when the doors are closed sometimes they'll freak and set off my alarm.. alarm is telling me that a door is open.. but it's not.. etc, just gotta pick up new door pin switches is all.
