HELP: 12V/120W AUX Power Outlet Is Dead!

Ok, I have a 2001 Corolla S, in my center console next to my e-brake is a 12V/120W Auxillary Power Outlet. I plugged in a power inverter and somehow it blew my outlet. My main Power Outlet in my dash works however. Thinking it was just a fuse I checked all my fuses with a fuse tester and they all checked out fine. I can't seem to figure out why its not working. Either the plug or wiring fried, or the Fuse is located somewhere else. Does anyone know where it might be? Else I guess i'll just have to hit up a junk yard or get replacement plug and swap it out. Any input would be helpful, thanks!

Fuse box maybe?? have you checked the fuse box to see if it has its own fuse in there?? if not, it could be paired up with something else.. your wiring wouldn't just fry up, that's what fuses were created for in the first place. Check your owner's manual to see if it tells you where the fuses are.

I've checked the fuse box under the hood and the one in the dash behind the accessory tray, but they all seem fine, and nothing else in the car is having an electrical problem, so i doubt its paired to anything. So i'm really confused as to what fuse it may be. The owner manual and even Haynes or whatever guide doesn't specify which fuse goes to it. Does anyone know of any other fuse boxes that I may be missing?

I'm not sure what you mean by "behind the accesory tray", but there is (should be) a kick-panel fuse box by your left foot on the driver's side...I think?

Ok so maybe its not totalled, but almost..... getting a whole new front end. Damn these cars are tough. So yeah I suppose I still need to address this issue. I'll take a look for more fuses, but if anyone knows specifically which one this plug uses, that would be great info to have.

Ryan

The power outlet itself has a fusible link on the back of it, it is a short and thin section of tin wire that will act as a fusible link at the (+) supply and will burn out.

I am not sure if that helps, you have more issues to deal with right now.

The plug unit can be popped out and replaced. Or find a 7.5 to 10 watt fusible link.
