Ball joint question.

My '91 has a clicking sound from the left front whenever I accelerate as I'm turning right. I suspect a ball joint problem. I've purchased a new one, but I'm wondering if it is advisable to replace both sides at the same time. Is there any harm in having one new joint and one original joint?
Paul.

Word, replace that CV joint, don't worry about the other one for now, just inspect it for a cracked boot and if it's good, leave it.

Well if the car is clicking while turning then it's the CV joint, why would a ball joint click

Ok, maybe I've bought the wrong part. CV joint replacement: big job? I have simple tools and a driveway. Could someone who's done this before give a rundown of the procedure? Thanks.
Paul.

yeah, it would be a big job. You'd need to know how to remove the hubs, so get yourself a repair manual.
