haha, nope sorry. My mother is looking for a new used car, and the used car dealership across the way is selling a really clean 4 door for $500 (it needs an ignition switch).
I was just wondering peoples opinions on that model.
You cant go wrong with just about any corolla, toyota never really made a bad corolla. Of course all this relies on how well it was maintained!! Would recommend the EFI model, has more power.
If i´m not wrong there should be a small plate on the firewall , closer to the driver's side, upper portion, near to the brake fluid reservoir.(at least mine has, but it´s a 91 model).
hope it helps.

My dad has a 90 Corolla and it's fairly reliable. It's starting to show it's age though. Radiator was just replaced because it was leaking, and the alternator was just replaced.
Other than that, it's been nothing but regular maintenace.
The 3SP automatic is ok for city driving but freeway driving gets loud. If you're just doing city driving with occassional freeway trips its a good car. Because it only has 3 gears, the engine spins fast at freeway speeds and you will accelerate almost instantly without the need for downshifting. But this results in more noise. My car doesn't have a tach, but my guess is that at 65MPH, the engine is probably doing about 3-3.5K RPMS.
I never drove the 4sp model, so I cannot comment about that.
The drivers side door jamb has a sticker with the VIN, granted it's not painted over or removed. The glove box sticker is for tire inflation pressure. Not sure what else is on there.

95 percent of my driving is on he freeway. The acceleration of this car (compared to my camry now) is what I was really hoping to gain some insight on. Noise really isnt an issue for me (even though im sure that it takes its toll - i regularly drive with the windows rolled down.)
I would like to sincerly thank everyone for their input. However, i decided that im going to save my money fo a bit longer and invest in either a corolla, cressida or camry (notice how all the names start with c ) after I upgrade my somewhat lacking tool collection.
