SWEET!
I'm happy thats an optional engine. If i were in the market for a new car...XRS would be one of my options.

At the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) show Toyota unveiled a compact sports sedan based on it's very popular Toyota Corolla.

The engine will be a newly tuned version of the 2ZZ engine which Toyota currently features in it's Celica GT-S and Matrix XRS. The version that will appear in the Corolla will make 170 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. Slightly less power than in the Celica or Matrix, but the new tuning parameters will increase midrange torque to increase punch during normal driving. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The availablity of an automatic is unknown at this point

Toyota has stated that "the increase in power will be complemented by improved ride and handling, thanks to a sport-tuned suspension and new steering improvements." In fact, the power steering rack was specially designed for the XRS to deliver better steering feedback.

There is also a more rigid steering column to give better response while decreasing vibration. Also included in the XRS package will be sport seats, a center cluster with metal accents and a leather shift knob.

On the exterior, there will be a color-keyed bezel surrounding the grille and 16" wheels to replace the stock 15" units.

It needs to be lowered about another 1.75-2.0" but other then that looks like a great car for the price.
