89 sr5 corolla needs help, bad mpg, hesitates

My car lacks a power, if i floor it u can hardly tell im flooring it, it also gets pretty bad mpg for the engine (usuallt a little under 200 miles per tank). When i got the car, (2 years ago) i replaced spark plugs, wires, and the dis. cap. About 2 weeks ago i took out the carb and rebuilt it, for the first quarter of a tank i got 80 miles!! then it went down a little more and more as thegas went down, now on this fill up im at the half mark at 100 miles. Also i think i messed up rebuilding the carb, in the morning my car fluxuated (rpms) does up to 2 then down to .3 for a while after its warm its just fine, and that only happens in the morning, anyone have any suggestions?

problem here might be the timing is wayyyyy of and you are running super rich. you need more air. gotta get your cars timming timed. and what you need might be to check the jets in the carb they might not be the right ones. good luck.
