2002 corolla clutch problem

My 2002 corolla clutch worn out. we bought it 2 years ago and run only 20,000 miles now. It has 3-year-warrant. Do anybody know if 3-year-warrant cover clutch or not?? Thanks a lot.

in most warranties the clutch is considered a wear item like brake pads. Most warranties i have heard of dont cover wear items. I say most because i believe that bmw's have a set up where they do change brake pads but i may have misheard the commercial and missed some fine print. Plus its a bmw.

i got my corolla 01 used and its cluch gave out like less then a month later. Having driven sticks all my life i knew it had nothing to do with my driving. While my warranty didnt cover it i was lucky enough to still be covered under the dealership warranty and because i had just bought the car they replaced it with only a 50 dollar deductable. Boy was i happy.

Seeing as ur rolla has been under ur ownership for 2 years i doubt u can do this. While the warranties im familar with dont cover wear items such as the clutch i guess it wouldnt hurt to ask who ever covers the warranty.

good luck mate

Definitley take it in to the dealership.

The 3 year warranty is a powertrain warranty and I don't see how the clutch is not part of the powertrain.

On that note I've had my 2001 Corolla almost 4 years, 58,000 miles, hard driving in San Francisco (one of the hilliest cities anywhere) and my clutch is A OK

Thanks a lot for your reply! dealer dont want cover it. But this clutch already had problem at the first time we brought, since it always had burning smell when we drove it-- poorly, we don't have any knowledge about it until they told us clutch worn out this time. For the past 2 yr, we contacted dealer few times about it and they had a record of it. But they never told us anything until today. I am so angry for their dishonest and slippy. I told them it is factory defect that they should cover. They said they will open transmission to check. If it is factory defect, they will cover, if it is clutch wornout, I need pay the price. I just wonder if this kind of clutch is factory defect or not since it had a problem at the beginning? Can you give me any good advice to argue with them?? Any help is very very appreciated!!

Well in theory the clutch should not be that worn out at all unless it had been improperly driven. So if yoiu got it brand new and the clutch is worn out already, the dealer will probably say it is your fault for riding the clutch all the time or something.
Do you have a kid? Maybe someon else has been driving the car and doing lots of burnouts

My kids is preschool age. My husband and I drive this car. We learn to drive mannual car 6 years ago and the first mannual car we have is mazda 626. We drove it for 4 yrs until we bought this new car. We drive it at the same way as we drive this new car. Honestly, I don't know how improperly drive will cause clutch burnout. But there is no any abnormal smell or sign when we drive mazda 626. Can you tell me what's wrong? Thanks.
