i most likely want the hp for street fighting. i'm thinking of getting a supercharged engine. but it's still only 145hp....what else would i be able to do?
Com'on guys, I think you know what he's asking, or can take a reasonable guess. He's got a basically stock Blue Top, and is looking for more performance for his daily driver. Which means he's probably looking for a boost in HP across the pwr band. Anybody have an answer?
I'm still new to the 4A's, but I think an S/C swap with a pulley and intercooler and upgraded fuel and ignition should get you near 200 at the crank.
you want 200hp on a daily driven 4age???? here's how you get it......you pop two caps of E and down a pint of cough syrup......now dream real hard....real, real hard!!!!!
Deep, you should try this too...because maybe you'll get that 200hp mark also!!!
You guys are shooting for unrealistic goals for the sounds of it, a daily driven budget.
to put your goals in perspective....formula atlantic 4age's generate about 220 - 230 hp and they invest roughly $50,000 into the engine. 200hp?? perhaps your shooting too high.

i totally hear you man, that is why i didn't even waste my time replying to this thread, until now.
what i wanted to say was, do you even know what 200hp would feel like in an ae86?
how that would be to harness on an everyday basis??
you think Jover is humble for a reason? it is from the reprocussions of driving his car.
mix up that codine good..

reprocussions? I have fun in my car...and there's no doubt about it, and any (very little) consequenses are negated because it's such a fun lil car. I just wish it'd have another 150 hp!
it does it's job, and my suggestion would be to go for a 4AGZE, and boost it up to 14lbs with a Cusco sized pulley...upgrade your cooling system, fuel system and ignition, and you're closer to 200 than you think or at least it'll feel like it.
Another way is to swap the SC system for a small turbo... but trust me..you'll have enough fun with just the GZE alone.

4AGZE (Supercharged)
My reasoning was that the 4AGZE puts out 145 HP in stock form. With upped boost, it could probably reach 165. With a good I/C, 175. With a solid upgraded ignition and fuel system, 185. And with the full custom 3" exhaust including downpipe, 200.
It doesn't seem unreasonable, but like I said, I'm new to this engine.
hi, i'm new to this forum
my dad put a toyota group a engnine into my corolla. the exhaust looks funny and it makes a funny noise, and is very uncomfortable. What can i do to make it not feel like a go kart?

Oh, and I prefer greens to E.
Yeah dude, those are unreal gains.
All your mods that you listed are probably only good for an additional 20 - 30 hp at best. My friend is running a t3 ball bearing turbo, custom dump valve and exhaust, upgraded fuel pump, on 14lbs off the stock ecu and he's just shy of 200.
the 4age is very hard to sap power out of. However in my opinion, its not needed. Even at 145, it seems reasonably strong and the gze has to have one of the funnest power bands that a street driver could want. If you want a big hp car, don't bother with the 4age, cuz your not gonna get it. the ae86 is based on balance...not on brute force....save that for the suras!
