Oh someone pleassssse help!

I need help bad. Im trying to change the driver side front axle on my 91 corolla and cant get the axle out. I tried yanking on it but it will not budge out. Can anyone tell me if there is any clips or anything that Im missing? I can feel the axle "pop" out of the transmission but wont come out. Its also groved in so I cant seem to stick a pry bar in there. I feel so stupid cause its just right there and cant get it out? Anyone changed it before?

I'm assuming you have the outer joint out of the hub or the ball
joint loose from the control arm so the axle can move. If so you just have to either pry it or use a big drift and hammer. The corollas are by far the toughest. Its just held in by a snap clip, make sure its still on the axle when you get it out.

I am most interested in hearing how you solve your problem as I expect to be doing exactly the same thing in the near future. Please keep us informed of your progress.
Paul.

mine just popped out... like most 1/2 shafts, it has a geared end that fits in and has a ring on the very end of it that pops out a bit to hold it in place.... use a rubber mallet or just yank... it'll come out (and no way it's as hard as my roommates v6 mx6 was... that took us a week to do... my corolla took 10 min for both sides)

the problem is that its disconnected from the transmission because i am able to turn it. when it i feel it snap in, i cant turn the axle because its in park. do you think its rusted or something?

You need a larger pry bar.
A lot of technicians are very against prying and hitting things, some do it as much as possible.
With this repair, you do have to just pry the joint out. A good place to start is to take two large slotted screw drivers and pry the joint out that way, sort of wiggle it out. Another thing I like to do is take some rope or cord and pull the strut assembly and knuckle as far out of the way as possible. This makes for more room.
