Hey guys i'm considering putting on a new exhaust from the cat back, i went to midas to get an estimate and they suggested i go with the stock system which be ova 300bux. Their reason for this was if they just run they pipe to a performance muffler(i already purchased) it wouldnt be the right back pressure and my engine would not last long in this situation, i'm thinkin they are trying to screw me for more money. Any of you out there have an exhaust on your corolla? Any engine problems? Thanx for input

Midas can obviously make more money on a stock exhaust system, as they just bolt it on and ask for ya 300bucks. If they custom bend it (which is like nothing for our cars) they actually have to work.

When I had my 4AFE I put a cat back 2.25 on from Mufflerman and I beat that car for years and revved the motor beyond its intended limits and guess what?? No problems!

Go somewhere that will bend you a pipe.

I don't think they would make cat back exhaust if it was to lead to that much potential damage. Go somewhere else that isn't smoking cheap weed. :grin:

got the exhaust put on today, the dual tips stick out more than i expected but it has a real nice sound. :grin:
