4A - GZE into a 86 GTS

I did a search but didnt get anything usefull back.

Anyhow, The plan is to put a 4AGZE into the hatchi..

I know people have done this and I am in need of your guidance.

First off.. there are different versions of GZE's

AE92, 101 aw11?? etc etc
which one is better of the few HP #? TQ# etc etc.
and how can you tell them apart visually?

Assuming I have the engine, harness and ECU.. the stock tranny will mate, but is the stock clutch strong enough for the extra power. (my target is 250hp)

Extra bits that I will need..?? different PS lines?? etc etc..

Any advise would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

your target is 250hp? I think you need to re-adjust your expectations... either that, or save up a whole pile of money.

also, check out club4ag.com's reference section.. there is a 4agze swap article there that would be a good place to start looking.

not trying flame but if your target is 250hp... i'd say turbocharged your motor now and rebuild the internals. scrap the SC idea unless you're going 4AGZTE, hehehe.

^twincharge!!! Go for it.

Anyways, I agree with mr_sinister. club4ag.com is a good place to start.

Also shooting for 250hp - definately turbo. Scrap the idea of using the T50. I don't even like thinking of it being used with the 4agze. As for the clutch, go with an aftermarket clutch if you want.

Are you doing the work yourself or are you having someone else do it for you?

Also...what's a "hatchi"?

I spoke with a guy that made a custom turbo kit for his 4age and running 14psi laying down 250hp.. with stock internals. Ill get his specs later on, so 250HP on a 4agze shouldnt be a problem. its all about the tune.

and I prefer a turbo over a supercharger anyday, I figured it would be a lot easier to get a 4agze,change pulley on the blower run about 1bar, 3" back and tectom tune should net 250hp no problem.
