i have a problem with my gear box...my car is a toyota corolla with a 4agze engine (japan version)...whenever i shift to the second and third gear its hard to "get in" or push through and makes a cracking sound...what do i need to do or change in my gear box? suggestions and advice are really appreciated..

I think is it the clutch problem...
Check with mechanics

redcar.... have you checked the trans. fluid and clutch? if it's not those try getting a new "surplus" gearbox. try mo i-post sa www.grupotoyota.com

I am also having the impression it's from the clutch. Remove the gearbox, you'll immediately see if it's the clutch. If it's not, buy a used gearbox (no reason to buy a new one as gearboxes are generally quite reliable) and as you are at it change the clutch as well.
