Power Lag

I have 2 corollas
98 corolla LE (fully stock)
99 corolla VE (fully stock)
My 98 corolla LE just simply feels like it doesn't have power as the 99 corolla VE.
When i floor on the LE it takes like 3 second to response
when i floor on the VE you feels almost instant boost of power
I changed my air filter and does regular maintaince....
anyone know the reason for the power lag??

My guess is that the VE, like mine, is a lowly 3 speed transmission. The amount of available torque makes the difference...

i think the issue is more "lack of power".....not power lag.....

Need a tune up, maybe. Check plugs, O2 sensor, try engine flush, clean intake maniflod and throttle body, check for exhaust leak, fuel injection cleaner, even check transmittion oil.

or if you think that's not it, you can try tightening the kick down cable......

which will downshift faster

actually, with some fast reaction time........ I can keep up the lead I gain in that little bit of faster start until I hit 60km/h
then, I must shift down to second and then everything blows by me.......
