gts vs. xrs

I know the xrs corolla isn't out yet. But I was wondering what people would think is better a gt-s corolla or the xr-s.

actually it is out here...and the XRS is blah. drove it the other day...was NOT impressed.

keep in mind the torque of the XRS is low...very stinkingly low...and it's tall and bulky...and takes turns like a dyspeptic cow...

You can't really compare the two anyway.

The Corolla GT-S was offered from 84 to 92 in rear and front wheel drive variants. Both with a twin cam 1600cc engine.

Do you mean comparing the Corolla XRS to the Celica GT-S?

One is a grocery getter one is a sports car. One's good for transporting 4-5 people one is good for two people...

i THINK he's comparing the Celi to the Corolla.

that's why there really is no comparison. the celica's nicer all around.

unless you're 6'+...then it's an awful car...sunroof gets in the way I can't find a good seating position (the new corolla sucks at ergonomics as well, but it has head room)

true about the height issue...but then again, i'm a short one at 5'4.

I drive the rolla xrs 05 right now and i love it....its a usefull performance oriented car, the celica is good for rippin around, and thats all (not that thats a bad thing) but for normal living the xrs is a brilliant car especially for 7000 less than the gts

see...since i'm doing the motor swap later this year, i'll essentially own an xrs...i just don't like the body they chose, and i REALLY don't like that it's detuned.

I wouldnt say that it is 'detuned' its more like 'remapped'

and mabee that remapping detuned it....lol

my definition has to do with the lack of 10 HP...where'd it go?

I heard that they took out some of the top end to put into mid range torque...i could be wrong tho.
