16V 1.8L engine code 1ZZ-FE

possibly a VVTi(can't remember when they started that...not awake enough to). why would you need a bigger motor? if you're looking for more power you can squeeze a LOT out of that motor for the same kind of money you'd be putting into it with a swap.

IF you want to do a swap...it's very time and money consuming. if you have the money, you can fit anything in there that you want.

suggested swap for larger motor but staying in the toyota fam? shove a supra motor in there . just make sure you beef the frame and axles before you run her...else your car will hate you forever.

You either have a 16V 1.8L 125hp VVT-i engine (aluminum) or you can have a 16V 1.8L 120hp non VVT-i engine (steel) in that year Corolla.

Open the hood and if you see a peice of plastic that covers the engine that says VVT-i on it you'll know what you have.

Thats the VVT-i engine they lauched it in 2000 as an option between both engines. It came standard in the 01 and 02 Corollas.

You can put a 2ZZ-GE engine out a Celica GTS in. Thats the biggest engine that fits. Without too many problems but with lots of work. I say turbo the engine thats already there.

i thought all 00's had vvt-i.

anyways, the 2ZZ isn't a"bigger" engine. but that woudl be the most straightforward swap. kinda pointless to swap with these new ZZ's. If u've got teh money, swap in a 3sgte.

No it only came as an option to have VVT-i or not, I beleive it cost $2000 more to have the VVT-i engine.

And a 3sgte swap is just rediculous! Way too much work to put that in. The USDM 2ZZ has 185hp and the JDM 2ZZ had 195hp so its the best swap for the best price with the less hassel.
