an AE82 you mean.

Chances are you can't find anything to upgrade that particular engine.. but you can do engine swaps. like a 4AGE motor from a later AE92 Corolla GTS or the 4AFE from the SR5 models. Or you can also go for the japanese 4AGZE from the AE92 Levin and Trueno GTZ OR you can even go for either silvertop or blacktop 20V 4AGE from the japanese AE110 and AE111 Levin and Truenos.

Be warned though, they're not easy or cheap swaps.

In Australia and New Zealand and in the UK, the engine of choice for AE82's seems to be silvertop 20V's.

one thing you guys have to learn when it comes to cars is... THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS "CAN NOT BE DONE!". if it fits on the engine bay it can be done. if it doesn't fit cut the firewall and make it fit. in this case i wouldn't count out the 4AC. they're capable as any other toyota engine. i've seen a 4 barrel dual side draft 4AC set-up. and is capable of beating any 4AG-E with less money being spent on. i've already seen weird things done to a toyota car from an FF engine reconfigured to RWD layout to putting a Rotary motor on a small hatch toyota. so modding a 4AC is not as impossible as everyone thinks. it could be cheaper coz no one wants it, hehehehe. and that's a plus for you.

REMEMBER: just be patient, and don't get bullied by 4AG-E lovers, coz it's also overrated and slow. i own one so i know, hehehehe.

well....if there are any performance upgrades for the 4AC...i have yet to find them...and apart from the basic: ground cables, ignition, and bigger carbs....there isnt much in the way of purchasable upgrades for this engine

Who says you have to buy everything ready made. Fabricate, design, make. thats what I've done. My 4A-F has more power than a modified 4A-GE.

It'd be fun to have a blower though.

A big one that's sticks through the hood

Or one that you can't see at all so it's a sleeper
